Life

I am at my best where people, technology, and strategy run into each other.
I am a Partner and Head of AI Research at KPMG, with a PhD from the University of Toronto.
I am a Canadian and Bajan citizen, raised in Toronto. My mother is from Jamaica and my father is from Barbados. I grew up with a Chinese best friend and learned the violin from an Armenian teacher. Where my parents come from, nobody rose alone and nobody fell alone.
I started out as a materials scientist at NASA Langley, moved into consulting, left consulting for start-ups in San Francisco, worked at a few other firms in New York and eventually landed at KPMG. If you had told me at twenty-two that this is where I would end up, I would have laughed.
I did my undergraduate degree in materials science at the University of Toronto, went to McMaster for a master’s in engineering, came back for the PhD I finished in 2020, I still lecture there from time to time, and the Forde Polymath Award lives there.
The violin has been the one constant in my life.
